How to get Jpop and Jrock legally
As everybody after Tom below found out, you have to be quick if you want to grab a free iTunes song code posted here. (See previous post). You can try refreshing the page every 5 minutes, however that probably won’t get you very far. That’s because even though I am doing my best by drinking waaay too much Coke Zero, (and my waistline can certainly attest to that), it appears that they just aren’t handing out those free song codes as often as they used to, even though somebody apparently wins every 10 seconds. Yeah Right!
You could subscribe to the RSS feed, but that still requires you to actually check your RSS reader for new posts.
The best way to make sure you don’t miss out the next time I post a free iTunes song code is to download and install the JPopMp3s toolbar.
As you can see from the screen shot to the left, the toolbar sits unobtrusively in your browser and is completely customizable. Not only does it have an RSS notifier which alerts you when a new post is made to this blog (so you will know instantly when a new song code is posted), but it also notifies you when new posts have been made at a couple of other great Jpop related blogs that I have chosen, namely, Pink Wota and Unchained. When a new post appears a small notifier star appears on the RSS icon in the toolbar. When you click it the list of blogs drops down which displays the titles of recent posts when you hover over it. Very convenient and certainly saves you from cruising the blogs daily for new material. I can also add more blogs to the RSS feed so if you would like to see a particularly good Jpop related blog, please let me know and I will add it to the feed.
Another great feature which I can honestly say probably gets used the most of all things on my computer is the email notifier which you can also see in the screen shot. This is great because you can setup any number of pop email accounts (Yahoo mail, Gmail, Hotmail etc) and get notified by the little star the minute a new email comes in, to any of your email accounts. You can also set it up to make a little pinging noise as well if you like. Once a new mail notification lights up, click the email icon and a list of your email accounts drops down, showing which email account has the new message as well as showing how many unread emails in each account.
Get the handy toolbar today by clicking on the link below or the small icon at the top of the sidebar to the right.

Ok I’m going to try something new today. As mentioned in an earlier post, Coke and iTunes Japan are giving away free songs codes every 10 seconds with Coke Zero in Japan.
I was trying to figure out how to distribute the iTunes song codes that I collect and thought, “what the hell, how about I just post one up on the blog and see if anyone wants it?” So here it is!
HWXKTRHK3K6 <<— update: Claimed by Jpopmp3s.com member Tom. See comments.
It expires September 30.
First in best served. I only ask that if you are the first to grab it and redeem it, please leave a comment below, maybe even let us know what song you downloaded.
This is an experiment to see how well it is received by Jpop fans, so if you are successful PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT OR I WON’T POST ANOTHER CODE
Perhaps you already know this, but did you know that if you plug an iPod into your computer, you can listen to the songs on that iPod through iTunes?
I didn’t realize that until this weekend when I came home and an album that my girlfriend owns and I don’t was playing throughout the house on the speakers attached to my computer.
That’s cool, but it also turns out to be a bit annoying because now I can only listen to it either on her iPod, or through a computer with her iPod attached to it.
iTunes doesn’t allow you to transfer songs from one iPod to another, or onto a computer: it only works one way – from your computer onto your iPod. When you plug your iPod into a computer, it automatically syncs (read: erases) the songs from your iPod that aren’t on the computer.
So while you can plug your iPod into your friend’s computer and load up their songs, once you plug your iPod into your own computer, any songs not in your own iTunes library will be erased when it syncs, unless of course you have the time and patience for the manual syncing option.
So I went out looking for a solution.
It turns out that there are as many methods and applications for transferring music from an iPod to a compute as there are iPod models themselves, which makes finding a surefire free solution a tedious matter of trial and error.
To save you the work and frustration, I have compiled a list of the best techniques for getting your music onto a computer with any model of iPod.

What? you aren’t a member of JpopMp3s.com yet?
Oh my….
Joining for free will not only get you access to this article, it will also enable you to purchase iTunes cards for use in the Japanese iTunes music store, so you can get all the latest Jpop and Jrock songs as soon as they drop.
Coca Cola Japan has launched another promotion with iTunes Japan, this time with Coca Cola Zero, another version of their calorie free cola.
While the amount of free songs don’t seem to be as plentiful as earlier Coke/iTunes promotions, someone apparently wins every 10 seconds.
I don’t mind a bit of Coke, so as before I will be drinking as much as I can stomach and passing on the free iTunes song codes to members of JPopMp3s.
I haven’t really decided how I will disburse the codes yet, if it’ll be to random members, or only members who have bought an iTunes card, or just give it to the next person who signs up whenever I have a song code in my hot little hands.
If anybody has any ideas on how I should distribute the free iTunes Japan song codes, leave a comment and let me know.
You can download for free the new single by Michi at the Japanese iTunes music store from today here. It will be available for free download until June 10. Hurry up and get it while you can.
You will need to be logged into the Japanese iTunes store before you click that link.

The song is all in English and her accent is fine, not the obviously just remembered and not really understood what she is saying English you hear from many Jpop artists.
A quick read of her MySpace page reveals that she was born in England in 1985 to Japanese and English parents, came back to Japan when she was 2 until the age of 10, when she went back to England. She returned to Tokyo when she was 18 and met track maker T.O.M and started pursuing her music career in earnest
The genre is listed as dance, but sounds to me more like light fluffy chick-rock.
There is another song of hers on iTunes available for download, called “Real”, mysteriously listed as being released on June 27 2008! That’s like 3 weeks in the future. That’s also the date her album, “MiChi MadNesS” is scheduled to be released but it seems the single is available now, albeit for 150 Yen.
