I have just added a new desktop wallpaper featuring the beautiful Namie Amuro. It is 800 pixels x 600 pixels. Clicking on the image below will take you to a full sized version, which you can save by right-clicking the image and selecting “save image”, or you could select “save image to desktop” to instantly make it your desktop wallpaper.

This is my first Photoshop attempt so I would appreciate it if you could leave a comment and tell me if you like or not. Any feedback would be great.

Get Japanese iTunes cards

13 Aug 2008 In: Jpop, News

3000 Yen Japanese iTunes card5000 Yen Japanese iTunes card10,000 Yen Japanese iTunes card

Here’s What I’ve got:

I have Japanese iTunes music store prepaid cards in 2000 Yen, 3000, Yen, 4000 Yen…all the way up to 10,000 Yen amounts. These are for use in the Japanese iTunes music store only.

Here’s what it’ll do for you:

With these cards you can create an account at the Japanese iTunes music store -which normally requires a Japanese credit card and Japanese address, but if you have one of these cards you don’t need either of those.

You will be able to legally purchase and download all of the latest JPop and JRock songs and music videos instantly, not only on your PC or Mac, but on your iPhone or iPod touch as well. No more trying your luck with dodgy download sites or file sharing. You’ll know exactly what you are getting.

Here’s what I want you to do next:

Go on over to JPopMp3s.com, scroll down the page and sign up. Click the confirmation links in both emails you will get (to confirm your membership). Log on to the site and check out the cards for sale in the members area. If you like what you see, (and if you are looking for a great way to get JPop or JRock why wouldn’t you? :)  ), choose the card you want, and I will send it to your email as soon as I get it. If I’m at home and awake (and this being Obon, the Japanese summer vacation, I’m home everyday) I’ll send you your card as soon as I get the order. I do have to sleep sometimes so there may be a few hours wait, but I’ll send it as soon as I wake up.

Cannot find the Japanese iTunes store?

29 Jul 2008 In: Jpop

Anyone can access the Japanese iTunes store from within iTunes on their PC or Mac.
Click on the “iTunes Store” button on the left side menu in iTunes. Scroll down to the bottom of the store and you will see “My Store”, with the name and flag of the country’s store which you are in at the moment. Click on the arrows to the right side of the country name and a dropdown menu of all the international iTunes stores will appear. The Japanese store is at the very bottom of the list, written in Japanese. Clicking on this will take you to the Japanese store.
You do not need to buy an iTunes card before you browse the Japanese iTunes store. Anybody can access it, however if you wish to download from the store, you will need an iTunes card, or a Japanese credit card.

Once you have found something you like, you can get your Japanese iTunes cards from JPopMp3s.com

Top 10 JPop songs on iTunes on iPhone and iPod touch“Yoku Aru Shitsumon”

(frequently asked question)

With the recent release of the new 3G iphones in many countries around the world, a lot of people have questions about accessing and downloading from the iTunes music store on their iPhone or iPod touch.

There have been concerns that you may need to designate an iTunes music store account when you first activate your iPhone through iTunes and that you may be stuck with that account on your phone. For people that have accounts at more than one country’s iTunes music store, it’s actually very easy to access any of the iTunes music stores that you have accounts with on your iPhone or iPod touch.

When you connect your iPhone or iPod touch to your PC or Mac and sync it, the iTunes music store that you are logged into on iTunes on your computer is the one that you will be logged into on your portable device. So if you are logged into the US store when you connect your device to your computer, that is the store that will appear when you access the iTunes music store on your iPhone or iPod touch. If you want to change music stores and visit the Japanese iTunes music store, you will need to connect your device to your computer and log into that store in iTunes, then sync your iPhone or iPod touch.

New release jpop songs on iTunes on iPhoneIf you are not logged into any iTunes music store when you sync your device, the store that you last used in your iTunes will be the one that displays on your portable device. You can browse and listen to snippets of songs, and you will be prompted for login details when you try to purchase a song. At this time you will only be able to log into the store that was displayed in your iTunes the last time you synced your device.

You can also redeem iTunes gift cards right there on the go on your mobile device and start downloading instantly. If you have a Japanese iTunes card from JPopMp3s.com you can input the code right there on your iPhone/iPod touch to credit your account. To redeem your code, go to the “downloads” section, which is the bottom right button in the iTunes store, as seen in the two screen shots above. There you will see a “redeem” button from where you can input the code and your account will be credited instantly. Any songs that you download will be automatically transferred to your iTunes library the next time you connect to your computer. You will be able to listen to the songs you purchase on your iPhone/iPod touch instantly on your device.

This week’s free download at the Japanese iTunes music store is “You say goodbye” by the artist SpecialThanks.

You can get it by clicking here. You will be directed to the Japanese iTunes music store. You will need an account at the Japanese store as the free download is not available at other iTunes music stores.

If you don’t have a Japan iTunes music store account you can get one at JPopMp3s.com, where you can get prepaid iTunes Japan cards in amounts from 2000 yen to 10,000 yen.

If you get a 2000 yen card you can download an album of your favourite Jpop artist or pick and choose a number of songs from any number of artists. No need to spend money on the whole album, pay for shipping or wait for the CD to arrive by mail.

iTunes offers a free download every week and once you have an account at the Japanese music store you can download them instantly every week.

Do you have a blog?  Do you want a free iTunes Japan song code?

Maybe we can strike a deal. I’ve got a bunch of song codes from a current Coca Cola promotion. I’ve given a couple away but I think I might do something different.

If you write a post about Jpopmp3s.COM and link to it on your blog, leave a comment below linking to the post and I’ll send you a song code.

The link should point to JPopMp3s.com  not JPopMp3s.net which is this blog. Also, the link text in the link should be  “Japanese iTunes cards”.

I only have a limited number of song codes at the moment, but if more people blog than I have codes, I’ll get to drinking coke and fatten myself up.

Update: The Coke/iTunes promotion ended on July 31st. While I’d welcome any blog posts about JPopMp3s.com, I don’t have any more song codes to give out at this moment.

new single by Emi Maria. Free on iTunes Japan this week

Wow! This week’s free download on iTunes Japan is gonna shoot straight to the top of my most played this week on my Last.FM! I love it. What a breezy, catchy true R&B summer tune.

Emi MariaOnly 20 years old, she was born in Papua New Guinea (!) and grew up in Kobe. Influenced by Janet, Mariah and K-Ci & Jojo, she started singing R&B in junior high. <side-note;  Freaky! just as I typed K-Ci & Jojo just now, “freaking you” came on on MTV Japan>

I spotted what I thought was a Rihanna influence, and also reminiscent of Crystal Kay.

If you are into R&B influenced Jpop- or even if you just like R&B, I definitely recommend downloading this song free on iTunes this week.

You can click on the image above or here to be taken to the download page in iTunes Japan. If you are not logged into the Japanese iTunes music store you won’t be able to get this track. Login first, then hit the link above.

Hurry up, it’ll only be free until next Tuesday the 1st of July, and once she blows up (which I predict she will) you’ll want to buy the album.

Finally!!  After drinking gallons and gallons of Coca Cola Zero (which doesn’t even taste that good) I finally uncovered another free iTunes song code.

I’m posting it below for the first person who comes across it to grab and use to download a free song at the Japanse iTunes music store.

Once again, if you are the first to claim the code and you use it, PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT BELOW so that those that come after you will know not to waste their time, and also just to let me know that it worked for you. It would be nice to also know what you downloaded, if you’d like to share.

Here it is:

3F3M97FK9LLE <–Redeemed by Mike (see comments) That lasted almost 24 hours before someone snapped it up.

It expires September 30th 2008.

If you don’t already have an account at the Japanese iTunes music store, you can get one as well as Japanese iTunes cards at JPopMp3s.com

Did you miss out this time? Be sure to grab the JPopMp3s toolbar with RSS notifier so you will know as soon as a new post is added here. Maybe you’ll get here faster next time.

Download the new Jpopmp3s toolbar!

22 Jun 2008 In: News

As everybody after Tom below found out, you have to be quick if you want to grab a free iTunes song code posted here. (See previous post).  You can try refreshing the page every 5 minutes, however that probably won’t get you very far. That’s because even though I am doing my best by drinking waaay too much Coke Zero, (and my waistline can certainly attest to that), it appears that they just aren’t handing out those free song codes as often as they used to, even though somebody apparently wins every 10 seconds. Yeah Right!

You could subscribe to the RSS feed, but that still requires you to actually check your RSS reader for new posts.

The best way to make sure you don’t miss out the next time I post a free iTunes song code is to download and install the JPopMp3s toolbar.

JPopMp3s toolbar

As you can see from the screen shot to the left, the toolbar sits unobtrusively in your browser and is completely customizable. Not only does it have an RSS notifier which alerts you when a new post is made to this blog (so you will know instantly when a new song code is posted), but it also notifies you when new posts have been made at a couple of other great Jpop related blogs that I have chosen, namely, Pink Wota and Unchained. When a new post appears a small notifier star appears on the RSS icon in the toolbar. When you click it the list of blogs drops down which displays the titles of recent posts when you hover over it. Very convenient and certainly saves you from cruising the blogs daily for new material. I can also add more blogs to the RSS feed so if you would like to see a particularly good Jpop related blog, please let me know and I will add it to the feed.

Another great feature which I can honestly say probably gets used the most of all things on my computer is the email notifier which you can also see in the screen shot. This is great because you can setup any number of pop email accounts (Yahoo mail, Gmail, Hotmail etc) and get notified by the little star the minute a new email comes in, to any of your email accounts. You can also set it up to make a little pinging noise as well if you like. Once a new mail notification lights up, click the email icon and a list of your email accounts drops down, showing which email account has the new message as well as showing how many unread emails in each account.

Get the handy toolbar today by clicking on the link below or the small icon at the top of the sidebar to the right.

Free iTunes Japan song code

10 Jun 2008 In: iTunes free songs

Ok I’m going to try something new today. As mentioned in an earlier post, Coke and iTunes Japan are giving away free songs codes every 10 seconds with Coke Zero in Japan.

I was trying to figure out how to distribute the iTunes song codes that I collect and thought, “what the hell, how about I just post one up on the blog and see if anyone wants it?” So here it is!

HWXKTRHK3K6 <<— update: Claimed by Jpopmp3s.com member Tom. See comments.

It expires September 30.

First in best served. I only ask that if you are the first to grab it and redeem it, please leave a comment below, maybe even let us know what song you downloaded.

This is an experiment to see how well it is received by Jpop fans, so if you are successful PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT OR I WON’T POST ANOTHER CODE
